Assuming you both have the same type, you can't get "more" hsv. Avoid direct contact when symptomatic and take an antiviral to force the virus back into latency. Taking a daily antihistamine can inhibit skin symptoms and reduce outbreak frequency. Actually, regular exposure to each other's asymptomatic shedding will cause you to maintain a healthy store of antibodies that will help you both remain asymptomatic.

Even though you both have it i would suggest getting tested for everything else and if you both are good it would be okay :)
